i knew tom only professionally. but he was the kind of person to make an impression on you. the thing that i most admired about tom was his firm ability always to see the silver lining in whatever clouds surrounded him. his smile was virtually ever present. you can see that in the photos in the slide show on this site. i will miss bumping into him on the street, hearing about his cases and causes, but most of all, i will miss his happiness. dan shemke
